GeoVerra is seeking a talented Production Coordinator to join our fun and fast-paced Production team in Alberta. The primary purpose of this role is to be accountable for overseeing and managing the survey tasks and production of drawings under the mentorship and guidance of the National Production Manager. 
The successful candidate does not need to be located in Alberta; however, it would be considered an asset.
What you will do:
  • Review and understand the survey scope of work, client requirements, survey data, drafting and plan checking to organize data processing, drafting and plan checking tasks.  
  • Coordination and production of all drawings, figures and presentation materials.
  • Scheduling and distribution of all CAD project assignments received from Project Managers across the production team.
  • Review clients supplied IFC plans, scope of work, schedules and manpower requirements when it is necessary.
  • Oversee field data calculations, aid in miscellaneous calculations and control network adjustment, turnover packages, and as-builts, as needed.
  • Contribute to RFI’s as needed.
  • Ensure production team follows documented procedures and established quality program.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformance issues and seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Escalate high-risk quality action requests to the relevant Manager.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions/procedures/checklists, ensuring they meet all quality program requirements.
  • Provide recommendations on CAD team training and coordinate training as needed.
  • Liaise with managers and personnel from other departments; attend department and management meetings.
  • Participate in the CAD employee life cycle including recruitment, retention, performance management and succession planning.
  • Be open and receptive to all suggestions/feedback on current procedures, policies, and expediencies.
What you will bring:
  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline; or certification in CAD courses.
  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline; or certification in related CAD/GIS courses.
  • 10+ years’ experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting and design in a consulting environment
  • 2+ years' experience in Trimble Business Center.
  • 2+ years’ experience leading projects and teams.
  • Member in good standing or eligible for registration with local Survey or Technologist Association is considered an asset.
  • An understanding of CAD requirements on a wide variety of surveying projects.
  • Familiarity and experience with drawing requirements for land development, water supply and distribution, sanitary pumping and distribution, solid waste and roadway designs.
  • Familiar with CAD submittals standards for designs and as-builts for local municipalities.
  • Knowledge of legal plan requirements and the use of Land Title and Survey Authority website.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Capacity to support and mentor/teach other members of the team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to liaison with clients.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail while working with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work without supervision, while exhibiting effective time management and strong organizational skills.
